IT’S HANDMADE

This unique, one of a kind black ceramic box is an original design, conceived and executed by me. This round ceramic box is entirely handbuilt in terracotta using the traditional clay pinching technique.

The miniature embellishments on the lid are also entirely handbuilt - no molds were used in the process.

Creation of this unique artwork was a slow and thorough process which took about a month altogether.

Once the clay box was created out of terracotta, I let it dry to reach the so-called ‘leather-hard’ stage. During this stage I painted it with underglazes as well as carved the intricate and detailed design. Then I let it get fully dry. Then the box was fired in a kiln to bisque.

Afterwards I covered it with transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again.

This beautiful one-of-a-kind box would be perfect for storing precious knick-knacks and jewelery.
