IT’S HANDMADE

This unique, one of a kind ceramic piece is an original design, conceived and executed by me. This planter is entirely handbuilt in earthenware, using the slab building technique.

Creation of this unique functional artwork was a slow and thorough process which took several weeks altogether.

Once the piece was built, I let it dry to reach the so-called ‘leather-hard’ stage. During this stage I painted it with underglazes, which took several hours, as the design is intricate and detailed.

Then I let it get fully dry. Later the planter was fired in a kiln to bisque. Afterwards I covered it with transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again.
