This listing is for a one of a kind ceramic serving plate with a composition of a folk-style design created with colorful underglazes, all done in the sgraffito technique.

This original clay dish is handbuilt and decorated using various underglazes and food-safe transparent glaze.

At first I built the plate using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I applied underglazes and drew as well as carved out the design with trees and the unicorn.

Next, the decorated plate went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.

This plate is entirely food safe. It can be put in a dishwasher, but I would recommend washing it by hand.
