This listing is for a one of a kind ceramic plate with a handpainted colorful floral design on the inside. Design is created with vibrant underglazes.

This original footed plate is entirely handbuilt and hand painted using underglazes and food-safe transparent glaze.

At first I built the object using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I applied underglazes and drew the design with folk-style motif and let it dry fully.

Next, the decorated piece went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.

This bowl is very tactile, with smooth transparent glaze, which add to it’s charm.

The plate can be put in a dishwasher, but I would recommend washing it by hand.
