This listing is for a one of a kind ceramic horse wall decor with native art inspired and floral design on a black background. Design is created with colorful underglazes, using sgraffito technique.

This original ceramic object is entirely hand-built and hand-painted using various underglazes and food-safe transparent glaze.

At first I built the horse shape using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I applied underglazes and drew as well as carved out the design, and then I let the piece get fully dry.

Next, the decorated artwork went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.

This beautiful, one of a kind ceramic artwork is very tactile, with carved lines against smooth transparent glazes, which add to it’s charm. It will be a beautiful addition to your home decor.
