This listing is for one of a kind footed ceramic plate with colorful design created with various underglazes.

This original footed plate is entirely hand-built and hand painted using colorful underglazes and food-safe transparent glaze.

At first I built the plate using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I carefully applied the underglaze and painted the design with the folk-style motif. Then I let the plate get fully dry.

Next, the decorated plate went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.

This plate is lovely to touch, with painted lines against smooth transparent glaze, adding to it’s charm.

The footed plate is entirely food safe. It can be put in a dishwasher, but I would recommend washing it by hand.
