This artwork is created in terracotta and decorated with colorful underglazes, using sgraffito technique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis original ceramic object is entirely hand-built and hand-painted using various underglazes and food-safe transparent glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eAt first I built the mask using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I applied underglazes, drew and carved the design, and then I let the artwork get fully dry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eNext, the decorated mask went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius.
