This round ceramic box is entirely handbuilt in terracotta using the traditional clay pinching technique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe miniature embellishments on the lid are also entirely handbuilt - no molds were used in the process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCreation of this unique artwork was a slow and thorough process which took about a month altogether.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOnce the clay box was created out of terracotta, I let it dry to reach the so-called ‘leather-hard’ stage. During this stage I painted it with underglazes as well as carved the intricate and detailed design. Then I let it get fully dry.
