Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I carefully applied the underglaze and painted as well as carved out the design with folk-style motif. Then I let the plate get fully dry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eNext, the decorated plate went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eThis plate is lovely to touch, with carved lines against smooth transparent glaze, adding to it’s charm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe footed plate is entirely food safe.
