Design is created with vibrant underglazes, using sgraffito technique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis original tiny clay salt cellar is entirely handbuilt and hand painted using underglazes and food-safe transparent glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eAt first I built the object using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached ‘leather-hard’ stage, I applied underglazes and drew as well as carved out the design with folk-style motif and let it dry fully.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eNext, the decorated piece went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, and it went into the kiln again for the second firing.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eThis bowl is very tactile, with carved lines against smooth transparent glazes, which add to it’s charm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe salt bowl is entirely food safe.
