This planter is entirely handbuilt in earthenware, using the slab building technique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCreation of this unique functional artwork was a slow and thorough process which took several weeks altogether.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOnce the piece was built, I let it dry to reach the so-called ‘leather-hard’ stage. During this stage I painted it with underglazes, which took several hours, as the design is intricate and detailed.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eThen I let it get fully dry. Later the planter was fired in a kiln to bisque.
